James Calderaro Triples Up

Mar 7, 2020

James Calderaro

After a flop of Diamond 7Diamond 5Heart 3, Alex Rocha checks the small blind, and the player in the big blind bets 7,000. Ken Jorgensen calls from the hijack, and WPT Champions Club member James Calderaro (pictured) moves all in from the button for 16,100. Rocha folds, while the big blind and Jorgensen both call.

The turn card pairs the board with the Diamond 3, and both players check. The river card is the Club A, the big blind checks, Jorgensen moves all in for 2,300, and the big blind calls.

Jorgensen shows Spade AHeart Q for two pair, aces and threes, and the player in the big blind mucks. Jorgensen wins the side pot worth 4,600.

But Calderaro turns over Diamond 8Diamond 6 for an eight-high flush to win the main pot and triple up in chips.

James Calderaro  –  72,000  (120 bb)
Ken Jorgensen  –  4,600  (8 bb)
