Mateusz Moolhuizen Eliminated by Seyed Ghavam

Aug 17, 2013

Mateusz Moolhuizen is amongst a raft of players who are taking advantage of the re-entry clause. He experienced a pretty dry session during Day 1A, before eventually being eliminated in the final level of the day. Unfortunately, for the Dutchman his second stab has ended much sooner.

Eros Nastasi opens the action to 350 in first position, Moolhuizen flats in the cutoff and Seyed Ghavam calls in the small blind.

Flop: [Kh] [3s] [2d]

The action checks through to the pre flop raiser who makes it 550 to play and both players make the call.

Turn: [7h]

This time, the actions checks through to Moolhuizen who bets 1,800, Ghavam check-raises to 5,100, Nastasi folds and Moolhuizen makes the call.

River: [9c]

Ghavam leads for 10,600 and Moolhuizen goes into the tank. After several minutes of thought Moolhuizen surprises everyone by moving all-in. Ghavam takes off his sunglasses, asks for a count and eventually makes the call. It’s pocket treys for Moolhuizen for bottom set, but Ghavam had hit a set of sevens on the turn to take the pot and send the Dutchman out of the tournament in just the second level.
