Watching the World Cup: Germany vs. France

As you’d expect, a lot of the players in today’s field were keeping an eye on the World Cup as Germany and France were playing earlier today. Some players were watching more closely than others.

partypoker.com online qualifier Maximilian Droege was cheering for Germany with his eyes glued to the screen. While Germany won their game to advance in the World Cup, Droege was eliminated a short while ago, so he’ll need to re-enter on another Day 1 if he wants to advance here at the WPT500 at ARIA.

Poker Hall of Famer and WPT Commentator Mike Sexton (right) is also in the field, and his eyes were glued to the World Cup on TV, even as the dealer was fanning the flop with Sexton in the hand.

While Sexton wasn’t rooting for either team as strongly as Droege did, Sexton is doing much better in the tournament, with about double his starting stack.
