Laurence Grondin Takes the Day 1d Lead

On Thursday, November, 1, the final event of The Season XVII WPT Montreal festival began as the $1,500 + $150 WPTDeepStacks kicked off with Day 1a at the Playground Poker Club.

With the WPT500 completed earlier this week and the WPT Montreal Main Event in full swing, the CAD$1,000,000 Guaranteed WPTDeepStacks will give players their final opportunity for glory.

The event features five starting flights with Day 1a, and 1b completed on November 1, Day 1c & 1d running yesterday and a final turbo flight taking place at 10 am EDT today (Saturday, November, 3) ahead of Day 2 which begins today at 3 pm EDT.

Day 1d saw 251 entries with Laurence Grondin leading the 70 players who progressed with a stack worth 327,000, and in the process took the current overall chip lead across all four starting flights.

John Harvey (284,000), Griffin Benger (242,500), Dean Murphy (230,000) and Tae Cha (223,500) complete the top five Day 1d counts.

Former WPTDeepStacks champion Jeremy Meacham (181,000) and WPT Champions Club member Victor Ramdin (69,500) will also return for Day 2.

Information on the players who progressed Day 1e will be posted live when available later on today, with a recap of the Day 2 action being made available at the conclusion of play.
