Murgia and El Yousfi Start Well

Sep 27, 2018

The 300 big blinds at the start of level one (with blinds of 100-100 and no big blind ante) and 200 respectively in level two, the chips were flying left and right. It didn’t take long to witness the first elimination and the field has been trimmed down further.

Now, at the start of level three, the screens show a total of 93 entries with 86 players remaining and already five re-entries. Among those that have started well are Kalidou Sow, Manu Murgia and Said El Yousfi. Frederic Delval, Guillaume Darcourt and Stephan Gerin have also all joined the mixed.

El Yousfi claimed a pot just now when he heads to the river of a board Diamond 7Heart 7Heart 5Spade 4Club 6. The Swiss bets 3,500 and his sole remaining opponent gives it a lof of thought.

“You can pick one,” El Yousfi offers in table chat as his opponent is still to act. Eventually, the other player folds and the Club 7 is exposed. El Yousfi also grabs his second card and flips over a four for a full house.

One table over, a big pot is brewing already and the board shows Club KDiamond 7Spade 2Heart JClub 8. Bruno Caron in the small blind has a bet of 4,000 in front out of the small blind and Manu Murgia on the button elects to raise to 9,800.

“You gotta have a set,” Caron adds in table chat but cannot find the fold button. Murgia flips over the Heart 8Club 8 for a set and claims a decent pot.

Manu Murgia – 48,000
Kalidou Sow – 40,000
Said El Yousfi – 36,000
Bruno Caron – 18,000
