Jason Eisele Wins WPTDS Maryland!

Jason Eisele is victorious in a field of 389 entrants to win Season V of WPTDeepStacks Maryland. Eisele defeated a strong final table and walks out of Maryland Live! with $108,921. The long-time poker player from Rochester, NY earns the first major title of his career and his largest tournament cash.

Eisele went on the run of the lifetime starting on Day 2 when he cracked Jason Steinhorn’s pocket kings with pocket queens. That pot gave Eisele the chip lead and he used that advantage to leverage himself through the business end of play. Eisele eliminated Steinhorn on the bubble and was in the lead with 47 players left.

Eisele stayed under the radar up until the final table of 10, when he struck again to catch a timely double.

With only four outs available against Arkadiy Tsinis, Eisele hit a gutshot straight on the river to double at the end of Day 2.

The final table started with Eisele third in chips and he held below the radar for the madness that ensued.

Yoon Cheon knocked out the first four players at the final table, capped off by his double knockout with pocket aces.

Matched up with Tsinis again and in need of a card to stay alive, Eisele hit a three-outer to keep his tournament hopes alive.

Eisele doubled again when his kings beat the tens of Hall and he busted Cheon soon after.

Heads up play opened even between Eisele and Hall. Eisele opened a small lead and then flopped perfect to lock up the title.

Hall finished in second place, and he took home $73,962 for his second WPTDeepStacks final table of the season. Eisele is the champion of the WPTDeepStacks Maryland Main Event, and he took home the top prize worth $108,921 which includes a $3,000 WPTDS Championship prize package. Eisele also received the newly-redesigned WPTDS trophy.

Congratulations to our new WPTDS Champion – Jason Eisele!
