DraftKings Qualifier Stephen Basile Turns $20 into €3,300 WPT European Championship Seat

“I’m getting crushed,” Basile said on break, “But in all seriousness there are some really good players out there.

“I made one really bad decision; I was impatient and I wanted to see if he had it. Unfortunately, he did!”

Basile won his seat in the €3,300 WPT European Championship as part of a qualifier on DraftKings, after entering for just $20! Not a bad return!

“I won the package last week and for the prize to be a package for a €3,300 tournament is pretty crazy. When I won I hadn’t played poker in, like, two years and I’ve certainly never played in a tournament like this.”

After satelliting and regaining his passion for poker, Basile is looking to the future.

“I definitely wish I had more time to prepare for this, but when I get back home I will be playing quite a bit!”
