The early stages of tournaments are normally slow-burners, which take their time to get going. However, with three levels in the books, the tournament has exploded into life – at one table at least – with a six-bet shove.

Jean Vanhoutte raised to 500 and Joao Franco three-bet to 2,000. With action back on Vanhoutte he four-bet to 6,500. Franco five-bet to 12,000 and Vanhoutte six-bet shoved for 22,725. Franco called.

The board ran out Club 4Heart 6Heart 7Heart 5Diamond 2 giving Vanhoutte the double up and leaving Franco with around 10,000 left.

Players are now going on their first 15-minute break of the day.

The tournament clock says that there have been a total of 90 entries today, bringing the total number of entries to 213.

Play will resume around 4:20 p.m.
