Valerie Ross Continues to Make a Name for Herself on Canadian Poker Scene

Valerie Ross is an eight-year veteran of the game and a familiar face on the Canadian poker scene. She holds a Masters Degree in business from the University of Athabasca and has over 15 years of Sales and Marketing experience. Previously, she was a featured contributor to PokerPro Magazine, and she now helps run the recently-launched Casino World Magazine.

In a recent hand, Omid Shahbazian opens for 800 and Ross calls from the cutoff. The rest of the players fold, the flop comes down , and both players check. Shahbazian then leads out for 900 on the  turn and Ross pops it to 3,200.

Shahbazian wastes little time in folding and Ross shows him it was a good choice as she held the nuts with the . Even though Shahbazian lost that pot, he is still among the chip leaders.
