partypoker qualifier Parker Talbot Off to Rough Start

Apr 30, 2016

It was not the start partypoker qualifier Parker Talbot dreamed of when he took his seat in the tournament.

In one of the first hands that he played, Mike Leah opens under the gun for 300 and Mathieu Valade calls. The next player to act also calls before Talbot comes along from the button, and then George Caragiorgas and Rasool Sarangi call from the small and big blinds respectively to make it six-way action to the Club 3Spade 7Club 4 flop.

Three checks see Valada call, the next player called, and Talbot raises to 4,100. Action folds back to Valda, who calls, and the limper folds. Both players then check the Club 9 turn, the Diamond 4 completes the board on the river, and Valada checks.

Talbot bets 5,000 and Valada snap-calls.

“Straight,” Tablot says.

“Boat,” Valade replies before showing the Heart 3Diamond 3.

Mathieu Valade – 45,000 (30 bbs)
Parker Talbot – 14,000 (93 bbs)
