For the fourth time in three years, Laurent Polito emerged victorious in the Main Event of a WPT National festival, this time winning the WPT National Brussels Main event for €56,500. The Frenchman is the first player to ever win four WPT National Main Events.

This season’s bwin.be-sponsored WPT National Brussels Main Event attracted 428 entries, generating a prize pool of €280,233. The top 54 players reached the money, and after an aggressive heads-up battle, where both Laurent Polito and the runner-up Michal Mrakes held the cheap lead, Polito was once again in the winner’s circle. On the final hand, Polito’s ace-king suited held up against Mrakes’ queen-eight off suit, giving him the WPT National Chrystal trophy and the first-place prize money.

Acording to the Hendon Mob, now Laurent Polito has over $1,400,000 in live tournaments earnings.

The WPT National Festival returns to the Grand Casino Brussels in October. The festival’s highlights include the €750 buy-in Main Event (Oct 8 – 11), the €1,100 buy-in High Roller (Oct 10 – 11), and a few new fun side events, such as H.O.R.S.E. and Royal Win the Button (Mixed NL Hold’em – PL Omaha).
