Registration closed on Sunday in the second-annual partypoker presents: WPT500 at ARIA Resort & Casino with 5,113 entries, making it the largest event in World Poker Tour history. The $565 buy-in tournament smashed the $2 million guaranteed prize pool by more than 27 percent, and every member of the nine-handed final table will walk away with a minimum of $33,000.
The winner will bank a massive sum of $330,000.
“This is such different event, and it creates a totally unique experience, attracting tons of first-time players,” said WPT Executive Tour Director Matt Savage. “I see a lot of laughing and a lot of fun being had. I’m very proud of this event; so far it’s gone great.”
The top 523 players all earned a minimum of $750, and the 253 players who advanced to Day 2 are all guaranteed at least $2,000.
