Los Angeles, CA (May 29, 2015) – Hot on the heels of Season XIII, where more than $70 million in prize money was paid out in WPT® Main Tour, WPT Alpha8™, WPT National, WPT500, and WPTDeepStacks events across the globe, World Poker Tour® today announced the first-half schedule for Season XIV. With affordable buy-ins available on four different continents, the return of the Hublot WPT Player of the Year race, and a brand new televised WPT Main Tour stop, the 14th season of the World Poker Tour has something for everyone.
“During Season XIII, we celebrated the historic achievements of players like Darren Elias and Hublot WPT Player of the Year Anthony Zinno; crowned WPT Champions Club members in seven different countries; debuted the extremely successful partypoker presents: WPT500 series in both Las Vegas and the United Kingdom; and embarked on a brand new journey with the WPTDeepStacks Poker Tour,” said WPT President Adam Pliska. “With 40 events already scheduled in 19 different countries on four different continents, we look forward to continued growth and success in Season XIV, and we can’t wait to again host our loyal players and fans at their favorite venues around the world.”
Season XIV kicked off in April with partypoker WPT National Newcastle, and was immediately followed by WPTDeepStacks Iowa and the first WPT Main Tour stop of the season, the partypoker.net WPT Canadian Spring Championship. The Main Tour then made history with WPT Amsterdam, the first WPT Main Tour event ever held in the Netherlands. More history will be made later this season with WPT Choctaw (televised), WPT Maryland Live!, and Europe-bet.com WPT National Georgia, the first ever World Poker Tour events in Oklahoma, Maryland, and Georgia respectively.
The partypoker presents: WPT500 at ARIA Resort & Casino returns to Las Vegas this summer with a massive, $2 million guarantee. This affordable, $565 buy-in event kicks off on May 31 with the first of 10 starting flights held over three different weekends. Players return for Day 2 on July 5, and the final table is on July 6. Every player who makes Day 2 will not only reach the money, but will also receive an $800 bonus.
Of course, the WPT Main Tour will also return to many player-favorite and historic venues throughout the first half of Season XIV, including The Bicycle Hotel & Casino; Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa; Emperors Palace Hotel Casino; bestbet Poker, Simulcast and Racing; Dusk Till Dawn; Playground Poker Club; and Bellagio.
