Born in San Diego and raised in Queens, New York, Steve Brecher has been playing poker for most of his life. He is a retired computer software developer who is a fixture on the poker circuit, playing most of the big events.
Brecher won the Season VII Bay 101 Shooting Star, earning $1,025,500, making him the latest WPT Poker-Made Millionaire. The Bay 101 Shooting Star was his second WPT Final Table, but his first was a big one -- the 2004 WPT World Championship, where he finished sixth. He also final tabled a PPT event and finished third in the televised 2005 U.S. Poker Championship.
